Pennsylvania’s NEW Nonprofit Global Institute for Simulation Training to Host Open House

 

Regional Simulation Training Center Provides Opportunities for Clinical and Nonclinical Training

 

Exton, Pa., November 7, 2014 -- The Global Institute for Simulation Training will host an open house reception on Thursday, November 13, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Training Center, 436 Creamery Way, Suite 300, Exton, PA. Guests will include educators, hospital administrators, pre-hospital services providers, simulation mannequin manufacturers, the community, and the media. Free parking is available.

 

In addition to the keynote presentation by John Gimpel, DO, President and CEO of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME), there will be presentations by Kate Morse, PhD, Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions; Richard Vause, DHSc, Salus University; and Richard Hamilton, MD, Drexel University College of Medicine.

 

Guests will enjoy light refreshments as they observe several on site simulated medical emergencies conducted in cooperation with the Uwchlan Ambulance Corp, Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions, Villanova University College of Nursing, and Immaculata University. All simulated events will be streamed live within the Center.

The reception will include tours of the 5,000 sq. ft. of flexible training space complete with audio-video technology, a learning management system, clinical task trainers, high-fidelity simulators, and a 3D anatomy system. The Training Center has applications for medical and nursing schools, colleges, and high schools, as well as paramedics, firefighters, clinicians, professional sales training, home healthcare practitioners, counselor educators or anyone who has an interest and a need to enhance the skills of their staff and learners.

 

Members of the media are welcome and encouraged to attend this event. 

 

The Global Institute for Simulation Training

A not for profit organization which will conduct training courses and services nationwide to help instructors and trainees optimize learner experiences for better outcomes through simulation training.

 

The Training Center features ten clinical rooms, two lecture rooms, and two control rooms in 5000 sq. ft. of flexible space.  It  includes a fully integrated audio-video system to capture training and debriefing sessions, a robust learning management system, clinical task trainers, high-fidelity simulators,  a 3D anatomy system, and a check-in kiosk.
